Getting Glammed: Find a Solution that Works with Your Pocket Book
PLUS TIPS on what to use, how to find someone, what to expect and MORE
Whether you’re on a budget or have limitless luxe when it comes to getting done up, I’ve got you covered. There are so many options out there that will give you what you are looking for!
I personally am obsessed with getting my hair and makeup done. As a fitness professional since 19, I grew up not wearing “real makeup” until I was in college! I’m serious, I never even plucked my brows until I was in my 20s…right? I know. My 10 min makeup routine is tinted moisturizer, bronzer and a lip color, that’s it! Oh and now glue on lashes as of 3 years ago.. Click here to find all the products in my 10 min makeup routine.
I first started getting my makeup done for photoshoots with a modeling company I worked for in college, and filming fitness videos. I always loved feeling like a new woman. It boosted my confidence and made me feel like I could tackle the world.
Enough about why I love it, the real question is how is this for YOU?
Here are some amazing reasons to take advantage of a Glam Day!
– You’ve got an event coming up (holiday parties, charity events, socials, etc)
– You have a date night/anniversary planned with that someone special (trust me, he’ll love it)
– You just want a boost in your self esteem or just want to feel special (every woman does promise, and I believe we all need “ME time”)
– Here’s one I’ve learned most of us don’t think about….family photos! Why not look your best for a picture you get once a year right? Mom you’re always behind the camera, you owe it to you to do this once a year MINIMUM.
Let’s talk options:
There are so many I’ve discovered over the years and I’ve personally done them all by now. You can hire a professional to come to you if you need that convenience or you can go out on the town to a beauty bar, hair salon, makeup counter, etc and get done up there.
So which option is best for you and how much do these services cost?
1. Paying someone to come to you:
If you’re a mom of littles, you might want to pay someone to come to you. But there are things to consider…where will the kids be? Are you going to relax and enjoy this pamper session or will you be yelling at the kids to stop, or sit or go in the other room (let’s be real, this is real life and they’re gonna wanna be up in your business)
The price tag comes to about $65-95 for this service.
How do you find someone?
I’ve used instagram hashtags to search out professionals #makeupartist (insert city) or asked around for referrals from my hair stylist and photographer friends, but recently I learned of a really neat app called @BEGLAMMED! Check it out! They are not quite yet in every city but they could be in yours!
2. Out on the Town:
If you’ve got the time, this is the option where you will probably feel the most pampered. Should we start at the top?
Limitless Luxe: Full service beauty bar. Makeup/Hair options, beautiful ambiance. Champagne. You name it! Check out BAM here. My latest experience in Dallas! Amazing service, style, and atmosphere!
The price tag ranges from $45-95 for hair and makeup $35-95
Middle of the road: Maybe you only want your hair done, there are many Blowout Bars (example: BLO) that do this.
Beauty on a budget: Go to a Sephora or a Makeup Counter/store like MAC and the service is usually the price of $50 worth of product or even FREE @sephora! So at least you get to take home product. I like to buy the lashes at Mac as part of my $50 spending and they’ll put them on for you too!
I hope this helped you decide if this could be an amazing solution for your next event so that you feel pampered, sexy and hopefully revived from an afternoon of this!
